Dance Audition Requirements
If recording a video, please be sure to introduce yourself, be sure your entire body is viewable in the video, and follow the instruction below:
• Attire (Females): Ballet shoes, black leotards, pink tights and hair secured in a bun
• Attire (Males): Ballet shoes, white T-shirt, black tights
• Please include: a ballet barre, ballet center work and a modern or contemporary phrase
o Complete ballet barre, demonstrating placement and technique
o Ballet center work, demonstrating work in adagio with leg extensions, turns, small jumps and leaps
o An additional technique (modern dance preferred, may be jazz dance or other): a dance phrase highlighting technique and performance ability. You may include an additional dance performance or your personal choreography on the video.

Musical Theatre Audition Requirements
If recording a video, be sure to introduce yourself, your major and your area of interest.
o Please prepare/memorize 1 sixty second monologue and 32 bars of a musical theatre song (please use accompaniment. No acapella)
o Record your monologue package (both monologue and song plus an introduction telling us who you are and the titles of your pieces) via your smartphone or another recording device

Worship Leadership Audition Requirements
If recording a video, be sure to introduce yourself, your major and your area of interest.
o Candidate must sing a worship song preferably self-accompanied on keys or guitar.
o If the student is unable to accompany themselves, worship auditions may also be a cappella, with an accompanist, or with a backing track.

Commercial Music Requirements
Students must submit one of the following: Demonstrate skill through an instrument or vocal audition, submit an EBM (electronic body music), submit a solely produced music recording, submit a video demonstration of them working in music production (ex., Video running a soundboard, etc.) or other music production skills approved by the department.
• Vocal Auditions for Commercial Music- Two memorized commercial songs, no originals. Styles include: Jazz, Country, R&B, Folk, and Pop/Light Rock. Maximum 1 song per style. *Genres do not include Musical Theatre

o At least one composition from each stylistic period: Baroque (J.S. Bach, Handel, etc.), Classical (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, etc.), Romantic (Schumann, Chopin, etc.), and 20th Century (Debussy, Ravel, Bartok, etc.) Memorization is required of performance majors but is preferred for all other majors.

Music Audition Requirements (Organists)
If recording a video, please be sure to introduce yourself, identify your area of performance, and demonstrate the following:
o Organ- Three or four compositions from standard organ literature of various periods (Bach, Franck, or Mendelssohn); or play piano audition.
o Piano - At least one composition from each stylistic period: Baroque (J.S. Bach, Handel, etc.), Classical (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, etc.), Romantic (Schumann, Chopin, etc.), and 20th Century (Debussy, Ravel, Bartok, etc.) Memorization is required of performance majors but is preferred for all other majors.

Music Audition Requirements (Singers)
If recording a video, please be sure to introduce yourself, identify your area of performance, and demonstrate the following:
o One song in a foreign language (Italian, French, or German); two additional compositions in contrasting styles and periods. Songs found on State Music Contest lists are acceptable. (Must have accompaniment)

Music Audition Requirements (String Players)
If recording a video, please be sure to introduce yourself, identify your area of performance, and demonstrate the following:
o A movement from a Bach solo sonata or partita; a first movement from a concerto; and another work of your own choosing; a 2-octave major and minor scale of student’s choice M.M. 80

Music Audition Requirements (Guitar)
If recording a video, please be sure to introduce yourself, identify your area of performance, and demonstrate the following:
o Must demonstrate guitar aptitude. Knowledge of open chords, major/minor scales, and bar chords in several positions. Must have a basic fret board knowledge (0-12th fret) and be able to play the ionian, mixolydian and aeolian (natural minor) scales. A finger style classical piece could be substituted for the above qualifications. A demonstration of fingerpicking is a plus.

If recording a video, please be sure to introduce yourself, identify your area of performance, and demonstrate the following:
o Three selections of contest repertoire; an exercise inclusive of rudiments; solo selections to include use of mallets. (A drum set audition does not meet percussion audition requirements. Music Production is the only major that accepts drum set as a primary instrument)

Theatre Audition Requirements (Classroom & Community)
If recording a video, be sure to introduce yourself, your major and your area of interest.
Interview/Video:
• Please prepare/memorize 1 sixty-second monologue & prepare a portfolio/slideshow of photos & descriptions from your previous theatre work. (may include work from Church productions, ministries, missions, after-school programs, outreach programs, children’s theatre leadership experiences, Fine Arts, etc.)
• Record your audition package (monologue plus an introduction telling us who you are and the titles of your pieces) followed by a recording of yourself explaining why you want to pursue BFA Theatre: Classroom & Community degree at ORU. You may use your smartphone or another recording device

• Please prepare a portfolio/slideshow of photos and descriptions from your previous theatre work (may also be work from Church productions, Fine Arts, etc.)
• Record yourself discussing one of your theatre experiences and also explaining why you want to pursue a degree in theatre production & design at ORU. You may use your smartphone or another recording device

Art Portfolio Requirements
Create a digital portfolio with a minimum of ten (10) examples of your best work. Recommended sites for
no-cost portfolio hosting include Carbonmade and Behance.
Write a letter stating why you want to major in art at ORU. Please mention any awards or honors you have
received. Please limit your statement to 500 words.
